Through connection and education, Mer Tales Ocean Journeys offers inspirational and memorable stand up paddleboarding and ocean experiences on southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Gina Lemieux is a professional marine biologist, occupational diver, accredited Paddle Canada advanced flatwater and touring level 1 and 2 stand up paddleboard instructor and personal life coach.
Her connection with the ocean began at a very early age and has been a constant source of inspiration and guidance in her life.
Her passion is connecting people with the ocean in ways that guide and inspire us to live our life that aligns with our authentic truth.
Her hope is that our connections with the ocean will foster greater harmony between humanity and Earth, as we embody our oneness with nature.

Wondering about the marine life you are seeing while you paddle? Join a Mer Tales’ Marine Ecological Tour led by Gina, a professional marine biologist. She will guide you through the local ocean waters and share her knowledge of the diverse marine ecosystems and natural history of the area.
Curious about the marine life living below your paddleboard? Join a Mer Tales’ Paddle & Snorkel Tour led by Gina, a professional marine biologist. Paddle along the shoreline or to nearshore islands and snorkel through kelp forests or eelgrass meadows and enjoy a close-up view of a diversity of marine life.
Treat yourself to a custom half or full day Mer Tales’ mini-retreat on the ocean with Gina. Learn about the marine life, refine your paddling skills, receive some personal coaching on the water, or simply relax in the quietude of the ocean. Create the individual or group mini-retreat tailored to your interests and desires.
A diverse and engaging program for girls to become proficient paddlers, learn about local marine ecosystems, develop team-building skills and participate in thoughtful discussions about following one’s passions.
Mer Tales is excited to be able to offer Girls on Boards events. Girls on Boards is a registered non-profit organization ‘empowering girls and women to love their bodies, trust their core and feel their power using immersive recreation experiences and vulnerable conversations’.
